I’ve fixed the email problem anyway…at least to a certain degree. I will now get all your emails if you go through my ‘contact’ tab.
Getting back to the technologically backward thing, I asked my developer to set up an email account for me especially for this site. It looks more professional, blah, blah, blah. So he sent over the package. If I thought, this “simple” WordPress site was intimidating, you should see this email package. I literally don’t know where to start. Even the tutorials scared me. There are a lot more “code” type words. I don’t even know what questions to ask the developer, who has been fantastic at helping me. If you need a WordPress site that looks professional, gets backed up daily, and provides tons of support, visit firstname.lastname@example.org. Tell him Vicky sent you. I don’t get paid for mentioning him, but I’ve asked him so many questions (almost daily), and he’s been so patient with me, that I felt I owed him.
As you can see, I’m still screwing around with my site – getting a little bolder – but still making lots of rookie mistakes.
The thought for the day: Don’t ever give up. My Dr. recently added a new anti-depressant to my regimen, and I actually woke up feeling quite happy after having one of the best, most relaxing nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. Time will tell if this will continue, but I remain ever hopeful…and so should you. Sometimes it’s just a matter of screwing around with the medications to get the right combinations for your personal situation.
Until next time – stay strong!
PS: if anyone out there has a story idea (non-fiction) for me, I really would appreciate it. I’ve been so busy learning, that I haven’t had time to think about many stories to pitch. Is there anything YOU want to know? Maybe I’ll write about it.
PPS: I’ve decided my niche market is going to be mainly the pet industry, with some mental/behavioral health thrown in. So this blog is going to focus primarily on the pet industry with a few mental health/creativity as therapy/mental illness stories thrown in now and again for flavor. Should be bizarre.
